Bears QB Mitch Trubisky rolls into work driving a 1997 Camry

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky reportedly showed up for work at Halas Hall driving a 1997 Toyota Camry. The vehicle is a hand-me-down from his grandmother, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

What is the story behind the 20-year-old car? According to the report, Bears general manager Ryan Pace made Trubisky promise to drive the old vehicle to work if the team drafted him. This was reportedly a deal that was struck between the two in March.

True to his word, Trubisky pulled into the parking lot with vintage Camry, sporting a North Carolina license plate.

The Bears traded several draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers to move up one spot to snag Trubisky second overall.

The plan for now seems to be that Trubisky, old Camry and all, will sit back and learn while Glennon attempts to shine for the team.

Trubisky will have his first professional practice on Friday when the Bears’ minicamp officially kicks off.
