Giants Looks to Win Third Straight When Hosting 49ers Sunday Night

Sunday Night Football in the NFL heads to MetLife Stadium when the New York Giants host the San Francisco 49ers. The current line has the Giants favored by 6.5 points with the over/under point total at 43.

The Giants opened the season with two losses but have answered those with a pair of convincing wins and now are in a three-way tie for first in the NFC East.

San Francisco opened the season with a win, but has lost three straight since.

A great deal of talk has been heard about changing the San Francisco quarterback, but 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula said he has all the faith in the world in Colin Kaepernick and is sticking with him.

Eli Manning the Giants star quarterback has thrown 7 touchdown passes over his past three weeks, including three last Sunday in New York’s 24-10 win over Buffalo.

Manning is 5-2 against the 49ers in his career. However, last season he threw 5 interceptions versus the 49ers and lost 16-10.

San Francisco quarterback Kaepernick had one touchdown pass in last season’s head-to-head encounter, but has not thrown one this season in three of his past four games played. Last weekend the 49ers quarterback failed again to threw a TD pass in his team’s 17-3 loss to Green Bay.

Carlos Hyde the 49ers feature running back has only 114 combined rushing yards in the past three games, after opening the season with 168 rushing yards and two TDs, in a 20-3 win against Minnesota.

Odell Beckham Jr., the star wide receiver for the Giants has not been in the spotlight this season thus far. However, Reuben Randle has caught a touchdown pass in both of the past two games. Randle enjoyed a strong performance against San Francisco last season with 7 receptions and 112 yards, while Beckham caught 6 for 93 yards.

Rashad Jennings has averaged only 3.2 yards per carry for New York this season. However, last week he ran for a 51-yard reception for a touchdown against Buffalo.

The UNDER has cashed in 4 of the past 5 games between the two teams. San Francisco has covered the spread in 2 of the past 9 games between the two teams. San Francisco is 1-8-1 ATS over its past 10 games played overall. The OVER has cashed in 6 of the past 8 Giants games during Week 5.

Prediction: San Francisco +6.5
