Broncos to start QB Paxton Lynch against Raiders

The Denver Broncos are having a rough season as they continue to struggle to find the right man for the job under center in the post-Peyton Manning era. The team has what was thought to be three capable quarterbacks on the roster in Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, and Brock Osweiler, but it remains to be seen whether any of them are long-term solutions.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold, the Broncos are making yet another change at the quarterback position heading into their clash with the division rival Oakland Raiders with Lynch getting the nod by head coach Vance Joseph.

At 3-7 and with a six-game losing streak in hand, the Denver Broncos will announce Wednesday that Paxton Lynch will start at quarterback Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, sources told ESPN.

After Siemian struggled at the beginning of the season, Joseph decided to go with Osweiler who was signed by the team only a few weeks ago. Unfortunately for Denver, the move didn’t result in much of a change in terms of the team’s offense improving which has now resulted in another move to Lynch who is finally healthy enough to get back on the field.

Lynch was dealing with a shoulder issue which has kept him out most of the season. The former first-round draft pick couldn’t beat out Siemian in training camp and preseason forcing him to watch from the sidelines, but now he’s been given his opportunity to shine with the team seemingly done with Osweiler as their starter and unwilling to throw Siemian back under center.

The Memphis product played in two games last season in which he threw for a total of 497 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
