Celtics Beat 76ers in London

The Boston Celtics came from 22 points behind to beat the Philadelphia 76ers at the 02 Arena in London.

Boston took another step towards the 2018 NBA title with a 114 – 103 victory. The Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown, who scored 21 points. Kyrie Irving added 20 points while Marcus Morris got 19.

The 76ers were led by JJ Redick with 22 points. Redick, 33, scored 13 points in the first quarter, after which Boston led 28 – 23. Joel Embiid scored 15 points and Ben Simmons scored 16. Philadelphia was up 49 – 27 in the second period before Boston came back.

Half way through the third period, the Celtics were up 69-68. The comeback looked unlikely, as Boston only scored four points in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter.

Boston pulled further ahead with a three pointer from Marcus Smart. It was 69-31 with seven minutes left to play. In that 21 minute period, the Celtics outscored Philadelphia 69-31.

It was Boston’s 7th straight win. The 76ers arrived in London after winning four in a row. The match was the 8th regular season NBA game to be played in London.

The Boston Celtics are currently the 4th favorite to win the 2018 NBA Championship. They are behind the Houston Rockets, The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. They are second favorite to win the Eastern Conference behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.
