The Chicago Cubs will open Game 1 of the NLCS as underdogs against the New York Mets tonight at around 8 p.m. ET. However, overall they are the favorites to take the series and go on to the World Series.

The Cubs are -165 to win the best-of-seven NLCS. Those looking to lay money on the Mets will be looking at a +145 moneyline.

The Cubs are the favorites to win the series with good reason. The Mets and Cubs met seven times in the regular season and the Cubs swept that series. The Mets could only muster up an average around a run against the cubs this season.

The total for the game is set at 6.5 runs. The UNDER is 7-3 in the Mets first game at home following a road series. The UNDER is 8-4-1 in Jon Lester’s postseason starts.

Jon Lester will start for the Cubs in Game 1, while the Mets will trod Matt Harvey to the mound.  Likely Cy Young winner Jake Arietta will pitch in Game 2 for Chicago. Noah Syndergaard will pitch for the Mets in Game 3.
