Dallas Visits Seattle for Preseason Week 3 Showdown

On Thursday, the NFL heads to the Pacific Northwest for a Week 3 preseason game when the Dallas Cowboys visit the Seattle Seahawks. The current line has Seattle favored by 5 points with the over/under point total not yet released.

Both teams entering this game are 1-1 thus far in preseason. Dallas routed Miami last week 41-14 but lost its first game to the Los Angeles Rams. Seattle won its opening game of the preseason over the Kansas City Chiefs and then lost to Minnesota in Week 2 by a score of 18-11.

Dallas has averaged the most points per game during the preseason at 32.5 with the third best total yardage averaging 384 yards in the two games played. Thus far backup, rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has been the top offensive player with 4 touchdowns.

In the offensive backfield, Alfred Morris has rushed 16 times for 96 yards. Dez Bryant the top receiver for the Cowboys has 4 receptions of which 2 were touchdowns. On defense, Shaneil Jenkins, a rookie, leads Dallas in sacks with 2 and has one fumble recovery.

Seattle has been inconsistent through two preseason games. The Seahawks are averaging just 14 points a game. On offensive, the running game is averaging a strong 148.5 yards a game, which is No. 4 in the preseason. Both Troymaine Pope and Christine Michael have more that 90 yards apiece.

However, star quarterback Russell Wilson has completed just 47% of his passes and was intercepted once. On defense, the Seahawks have one interception during the preseason and have yet to recover a fumble.

The Seahawks are 3-3 straight up over their past 6 games during the preseason.

Dallas is 4-1 against the spread in its past 5 games played at Seattle.

The underdog has covered the number in each of the past 4 games between the two teams.

Dallas is 7-2 ATS over its past 9 games played versus Seattle.

The Cowboys have improved over last season as players are healthy and the offense is playing well and producing points. Seattle has yet to find consistency.

Look for each team to play its starters more often in this game, with the third week of the preseason season usually the game that coaches look at their starters, while they rest them the following week to end the preseason.

Prediction: Dallas is playing well this preseason and the lean is for them to cover.
