Eagles Look to Sweep Season Series with Redskins

An NFC East showdown on Monday Night Football concludes Week 7 of the NFL regular season when the Washington Redskins visit the Philadelphia Eagles. The current line has Philadelphia favored by 4.5 points with the over/under point total on 49.

Entering this game, Washington on the season is 3-2 straight up and 2-3 against the spread. On the road, the Redskins are 1-1 SU and ATS. Philadelphia on the season is 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS. At home, the Eagles are 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS.

Philly has the NFL’s best record entering this game and could separate from the rest of the NFC East with a win on Monday. The Eagles have won four straight and hold a lead of two games over Washington as they look to sweep the two-game series with the Redskins.

The Eagles won three games to open last season, with then rookie quarterback Carson Wentz under center, prior to the wheels coming off. However, this season the team appears more equipped to continue playing successfully and a big part of that is the play of Wentz.

Washington, which was winners of five consecutive against the Eagles prior to losing 30-17 in this season’s opening game, defeated San Francisco last week 27-24, after nearly squandering a lead of 17 points. Washington’s other loss was a 9-point defeat to the Chiefs.

Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins played his worst game thus far in the opening game against the Eagles. However, he has played very well the last three games and is leading the NFC in passer rating at 106.4.

Washington’s tight ends Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed have become top targets for Cousins as wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Terrelle Pryor continue to struggle.

Philadelphia’s Wentz entering this past weekend’s games was No. 5 in yards passing with 1,584 and has thrown 13 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions. During the team’s current win streak of four straight, Wentz has 9 touchdown passes and just 1 pick.

The Eagles defense is No. 1 in the NFL versus the run giving up just 65.6 yards per game, but through the air is allowing 273.4 yards per game.

The Eagles have scored 20 points or more in 10 consecutive games.

Washington is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 games on the road.

Philadelphia is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games at home.

Prediction: The Eagles have a much more balanced attack offensively and a strong defense which should result in another win. Lean here to Philly winning and covering.
