Freeway Series: Dodgers Favorites Against Angels

The Freeway Series is an intense inter-city rivalry between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels and that rivalry continues tonight in an evening game scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET.

Last year the Dodgers won the Freeway Series against the Angels for the first time since 2006. They are –210 favorites to take at least two of the games in the series over the weekend against the Angels.

With Clayton Kershaw taking the ball tonight for the Dodgers many expect one of the wins for the Dodgers to come tonight. However, he will be dueling with Hector Santiago, a pitcher that is quickly becoming one of the best on the mound in the MLB.

Santiago and Kershaw faced off last year with the Dodgers winning 5-4. Kershaw is the –220 favorite over Santiago to pick up the win tonight. Kershaw has been playing Cy Young-Award caliber baseball as of late.

Santiago has also been hitting his stride over the last few weeks. Up until a 7-6 loss to Texas, Santiago was on a five-game win streak, while also giving up one run or less in those games. He has given up one earned run or less in 13 of his 20 starts this season.

The Angels are in a bit of a slump as of late. They have lost six of their last seven games, three of those losses came via a series sweep by the Houston Astros.

The Dodgers just recently broke a three-game losing run with a 10-7 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

The total for the game is set at 6.5 runs. The Dodgers have stayed UNDER in six of Kershaw’s last starts. However, they have only won 11 of Kershaw’s starts this season.
