Jets sign Josh McCown, solve none of their problems

The New York Jets signed quarterback Josh McCown to a one-year contract on Monday, news passed along first by his agent, Mike McCartney.

According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, the deal includes $6 million guaranteed and has incentives that could make it far richer.

McCown started three games last year with the Cleveland Browns. He’s started 60 games over the course of his 14-year career, earning a record of 18-42 playing for seven previous teams before signing with the Jets.

It’s likely McCown will enter the 2017 season as the starter for New York. At this time, there is no other starting-caliber quarterback on New York’s roster and the team is clearly in rebuilding mode.
