MLB Trends: Giants, Tigers Getting Bettors’ Attention

On this Saturday of baseball there is a slew of MLB trends grabbing bettors’ attention as the postseason race heats up with a month and some change left of the regular season.

MLB Trends: Streaks Tell The Story

Today it is losing and winning streaks that are the trends bettors are looking at.

For example, the Tigers are 12-0 straight up since April 12 when in the midst of series as home favorites. Today they enter a second game of the series with the Los Angeles Angels where they are the favorites.

The San Francisco Giants have a lot to play for right now. They are clinging to a Wild Card spot with the amount of baseball left to play getting smaller by the day. With Miami, Pittsburgh and the Mets hot on their heels, the pressure is really on.

Today, they will be sending Jake Peavy to the mound to face off against Atlanta. Peavy is 12-0 since Sept. 11 of 2014 when the Giants are favorites and he won in his last start. Combine that trend with the fact that the Giants won 7-0 in the last game of this series and bettors like San Francisco in this one.

MLB Trends: Totals

For bettors that like to look at the totals, the Houston Astros will face off against Tampa Bay today with a total set at 7.5 runs. The Astros are 0-12-2 on the OVER/UNDER since Aug 19 of last season as a home favorite after they won by one run last game, which is the case for their game against Tampa Bay today.
