NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Have ‘No Interest’ In Trading For Carmelo Anthony

The Cleveland Cavaliers are all in on making their team the best it can be. The defending NBA champions proved that fact recently by acquiring arguably one of the best three-point shooters of all time in Kyle Korver, but the Cavaliers aren’t done yet.

LeBron James has frequently said the team needs another playmaker to help shoulder the load behind Kyrie Irving. Another point guard or primary ball-handler is needed in Cleveland, but the team may be open to make another deal to improve the team if a scenario arises.

Recently, Carmelo Anthony said he’d waive his no-trade clause if the New York Knicks were ready to move on. That may end up being the case, but there doesn’t seem to be any interest from the Cavaliers, according to ESPN’s Ryen Russillo:

The frustration in Cleveland is starting to mount with LeBron desperately wanting the team to make another move before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 23. At the very least, the Cavaliers could sign a free agent point guard like Jarrett Jack or Mario Chalmers to help Irving in the backcourt, but there’s been no traction on that front as of late.

As for Anthony, there’s no telling where he may end up. His time in New York does seem to be coming to an end with the Knicks seemingly going nowhere with him. Kristaps Porzingis is the new face of the franchise and Derrick Rose has already gained popularity in New York if jersey sales are any indication with both players finishing well ahead of Anthony in the top 15 in that category.
