Paul George, Russell Westrbook Reportedly Working Out Together In L.A.

A new era of Oklahoma City Thunder basketball is underway with superstars Paul George and Russell Westbrook joining forces. The reigning NBA MVP and Thunder newcomer have already begun working out together in Los Angeles, according to ESPN’s Royce Young.

Russell Westbrook and Paul George are beginning the process of building chemistry on the court as the new duo had their first workout as Oklahoma City Thunder teammates on Monday in Los Angeles, sources told ESPN.com.

After expressing his displeasure with the direction of the franchise, George demanded a trade from the Indiana Pacers in an effort to contend for a title. George, 27, is in his prime and wants to make the best of his days at the top of his game.

Now the perennial All-Star will have the share the floor with an MVP in Westbrook who is also striving for the same goal in Oklahoma City. The combination of the two superstars definitely makes the Thunder an intriguing team in the Western Conference, but if it doesn’t work, George is expected to leave for the Los Angeles Lakers next summer.

Both players will be free agents next summer with Westbrook more than likely staying and George potentially leaving. It will be an interesting season, to say the least as it could be make-or-break for the Thunder during the 2017-18 NBA campaign.

At this point, the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors are the favorites to win it all for a second straight year. The Thunder will be a middle-of-the-pack playoff contender with hopes of being the biggest threat to the star-studded Warriors in the West.
