Thunder’s Paul George is ‘going for it’ with the goal of winning NBA MVP

The Oklahoma City Thunder shocked everyone over the summer by trading for perennial All-Star Paul George from the Indiana Pacers. No one saw the move coming as it was expected he’d be dealt to a title contender or the Los Angeles Lakers.

With George adjusting to his new surroundings, the superstar forward already has plans to win NBA MVP next season while playing alongside last season’s MVP, Russell Westbrook.

With Westbrook needing the ball on almost every possession, it’ll be interesting to see how the new dynamic duo in Oklahoma City works together next season. Obviously, Westbrook and Kevin Durant were able to coexist, but the UCLA product took his game to another level last season and may not want to revert back to his old ways of deferring to another superstar.

Although it is unclear how well this new pairing will do in Oklahoma City, the Thunder are vastly improved due to George’s arrival. The promising squad will likely move up a few spots in the Western Conference during the 2017-18 NBA season as they look to put the league on notice.

Along with the uncertainty of the superstar duo, George and or Westbrook could leave the team in free agency next summer. Both players will become free agents and may have their sights set on Los Angeles if things don’t work out with the Thunder.
