Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson considered questionable vs. Rams

The chances of the Arizona Cardinals making the playoffs this season are slim at best with the team sporting a 5-6 record heading into their matchup with the division rival Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Despite the less than stellar odds of making the playoffs or contending for a title this season, the Cardinals still have some hope and will need to win as many games if not the rest of their games from here on out.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals may have to take on the Rams, who are arguably one of the best teams in the league right now, without their star running back, Adrian Peterson. The veteran back is currently dealing with a neck injury and has been listed as questionable, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

The Cardinals list him as questionable to play in Sunday’s game against the Rams.

It appears the Arizona franchise won’t know whether they’ll have the future Hall of Famer on the field and ready to go until moments before kickoff. Head coach Bruce Arians refers to Peterson as a game-time decision, via Williams.

Coach Bruce Arians called Peterson a “game-day decision,” via Darren Urban of the team website.

Even with Peterson available to play the Cardinals will have a tough challenge this weekend as the Rams are as good as gets at this point in the season and are fresh off an impressive win over Drew Brees’ New Orleans Saints.

Currently, the Rams are favored to come out on top in this game by a touchdown. Considering the direction of both teams right now and Peterson’s uncertain status, Los Angeles getting the win while covering the spread might be a safe bet.
