DeMarco Murray Excited To Run ‘Strictly Downhill’ With The Titans

Back in 2014, running back DeMarco Murray burst on the scene in the NFL rushing for 1,845 yards and racking up a total of 2,261 yards from scrimmage for the Dallas Cowboys. Murray’s success in Dallas was shortlived with the back moving on to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After a disappointing short stint with the Eagles, Murray is on the move once again. The 28-year-old veteran was traded to the Tennessee Titans is hoping to bounce back with a vengeance and already excited about the style they’ll be playing in Tennessee which is something he’s very familiar with as he told Jim Rome:

“I do. It’s strictly downhill and that’s what I’ve been accustomed to my entire life. Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn’t work out, but I’m very excited about this upcoming season and looking forward to it.”

The Titans now have a few players to build around with Murray anchoring the running attack while Marcus Mariota holds it down under center. Tennessee was also fortunate enough to bring in some insurance behind Murray as well as a player that could eventually be the starting running back in the near future in Derrick Henry.

Tennessee took Henry out of Alabama with the 45th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Henry and Murray could quickly become a devastating one-two punch in the backfield for the Titans if both players get the carries and can stay healthy next season.
