Eagles QB Nick Foles preparing to ‘play the whole game’ in Week 17

The Philadelphia Eagles will have to continue their campaign for a Super Bowl title this season without the services of MVP candidate, Carson Wentz. The up-and-coming quarterback is officially out for the rest of the way as he recovers from surgery on a torn ACL leaving veteran Nick Foles to lead the way in the playoffs.

With the top seed in the NFC East won and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs clinched, the last game of the season doesn’t really mean anything for the Eagles. However, Foles is still trying to get up to speed after having to replace arguably the best quarterback in the league this season meaning the team could stand to benefit from getting him more snaps.

Apparently, Foles is anticipating getting a lot of playing time on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Although Foles needs more time to get this offense back on track as one of the best in the NFL, the Eagles having the veteran under center in Week 17 comes with the risk of injury. Foles may not be on Wentz’s level in terms of what he can do on the football field, but he may be good enough to lead this team to a Super Bowl title.

That being said, it’ll be interesting to see whether head coach Doug Pederson goes through with playing Foles or hands the football to backup Matt McGloin instead.

At this point, the Cowboys are slightly favored to come out on top on the road against the Eagles. Those odds could change if Foles is officially named the starter for this game.
