Lions QB Matthew Stafford questionable for Week 14’s matchup vs. Bucs

The Detroit Lions are on the bubble in the NFC as they try to be one of the teams that clinches a playoff spot through the NFC Wild Card. Although the Lions are still in the hunt, it may get very difficult for Detroit in Week 14 with quarterback Matthew Stafford’s playing status uncertain.

According to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein, Stafford is considered questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is officially questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a bruised right hand.

Despite Stafford’s questionable status for the matchup with the Bucs, the veteran quarterback is among the most durable at his position. Stafford has started every game for the Lions since the start of the 2011 season. That streak is the third-best in the NFL meaning it may be hard for head coach Jim Caldwell to keep him on the sidelines come Sunday.

Stafford is having another solid year for Detroit with the 29-year-old having thrown for 3,302 yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The Lions are 6-6 coming into Week 14 and will hope to take advantage of a struggling Bucs team that has failed to live up to expectations this season.

With Stafford’s uncertain status, there’s no line for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. If he is given the green light before game time, Detroit will likely be the favorite to come out with the win and improve to 7-6 on the season while keeping their playoff hopes alive.
