Marshawn Lynch Joining The Raiders Appears To Becoming A Reality

USA Today

The Oakland Raiders may be on the verge of adding a superstar running back to their roster. After weeks of speculation, Marshawn Lynch visited the team on Wednesday and reportedly informed his hometown team that he intends to un-retire and play again in the NFL.

According to NFL.com, Lynch has told the team about his intentions moving forward:

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Marshawn Lynch told the Oakland Raiders he intends to un-retire, per a source informed of the situation.

Along with letting his intentions to play be known to the team he’s seemingly always wanted to play for, Lynch ultimately joining the Raiders appears to be a foregone conclusion. Lynch, who retired after the 2015 NFL campaign with the Seattle Seahawks, only wants to come out of retirement to play for the Raiders and the timing couldn’t be better.

Oakland is a team on the rise in the NFL with Derek Carr and company coming into their own this past season. The Raiders when from winning only four games to 12 games over the span of a year and have many believing they could be a title contender in the AFC for quite some time as one of the most talented young squads in the league led by Carr and Khalil Mack.

Lynch is a five-time Pro Bowler and an ideal replacement for Latavius Murray who recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings to fill the void left by superstar Adrian Peterson. As long as Lynch is healthy, in shape, and things can be worked out with the Seattle Seahawks, the Oakland native heading home to wear the silver and black may be only a matter of time.
