Rob Gronkowski, Patriots

Rod Gronkowski returned in good form last weekend.

A thigh injury cost perennial Pro Bowler Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots one game last week. Tom Brady and company were able to endure and get by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, but obviously, the team wants he back as soon as possible.

Fortunately for New England, the Patriots will get arguably their best offensive threat back on the field in Week 6 as they face the division rival New York Jets. Gronkowski claims he’s ready get back to work, via Zack Cox of NESN.

“I’m good to go,” Gronkowski said. “Ready to play. Whatever the coaches call, whatever plays they have me in, I’ll be ready to roll.”

Unlike in years past, the Patriots won’t have an easy path to the AFC East division title this season. Three teams in the division have a 3-2 record along with New England. The Buffalo Bills and Jets also have three wins thus far.

As for Gronkowski, in four games up to this point, the 28-year-old has recorded 20 receptions for 318 yards and two touchdowns. In three of the four games he’s played this season, Gronkowski caught at least four passes for 80 yards or more.

Obviously, Gronkowski’s presence on the field is crucial to the Patriots’ success and having him back on the field in Week 6 in a vital divisional matchup. Although it is early in the season, the result of this game could have playoff implications with the AFC East up grabs moving forward.
