Coming into the 2016 NFL season, the New England Patriots had to deal with their two best players on the shelf for different reasons. Superstar quarterback Tom Brady has to serve a four-game suspension while All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski tries to get healthy while suffering a hamstring issue.

Fortunately for New England, backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been able to shoulder the load helping lead the team to a perfect 2-0 record. Now Garoppolo is on the mend after suffering an injury last week, but the Patriots might have Gronkowski back on the field for Week 3.

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, Gronkowski expects to make his 2016 debut tonight against the visiting Houston Texans.

Despite the potential return of Gronkowski, the Patriots will have their work cut out for them on Thursday night. The Texans are also 2-0 and sitting atop of the AFC South division. Houston’s defense is among the best in the league once again and will likely cause havoc for rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett in his first NFL start.
