Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor officially placed on injured reserve list

The Washington Redskins made  a significant move in NFL free agency during the offseason, signing converted wide receiver, Terrelle Pryor. The former quarterback made a seamless transition to a pass-catcher last year with the Cleveland Browns. The Redskins were expected to be improved with Kirk Cousins getting another reliable target.

Unfortunately, things didn’t work out as planned in Washington. Pryor suffered a foot injury early in the season and never really recovered resulting in a need to undergo surgery which has now placed him on the injured reserve, via ESPN.

Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured ankle Monday and will be placed on injured reserve, coach Jay Gruden announced Monday.

The Ohio State product caught only 20 passes for 240 receiving yards and a touchdown during the 2017 campaign. Now Pryor’s future with the team remains uncertain considering he only signed a one-year deal.

Last season, Pryor became a force to be reckoned with in Cleveland raking up 1,007 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 77 receptions. Substantial numbers considering the quarterback situation with the Browns.

Cleveland’s lack of a stable situation at quarterback made many believe Pryor could take his game to the next level in Washington with Cousins under center. Unfortunately, that dynamic quarterback-receiver duo was never realized nor may it ever if Washington or Pryor decide to move on during the free-agency process this time around.
