Tom Brady Sets New Record in Dolphins Win

Tom Brady

Tom Brady reached yet another milestone against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The New England Patriots quarterback made four touchdown passes in the 35-17 win.

This brings the 40-year-old’s TD total to 26 for the season, the highest ever for a quarterback over 40. Brett Favre (2009) and Warren Moon (1997) achieved 25 at the same age, and Brady still has 5 games left.

Tom Brady will reach 38 touchdowns this season if he keeps up his current pace. That would be the third highest of his career.

He now ranks third of all time in games with four or more touchdown passes with 28. Two of his TD passes on the day were for Rob Gronkowski.

“Anything (Gronkowski) wants I try to get for him,” Brady said. “So anything to keep him happy.”

Dion Lewis carried the ball 15 times for 112 yards to achieve his first career 100-yard game. Rex Burkenhead also scored two TDs as New England went 5 for 5 in the red zone.

After starting the season 2-2, the Patriots have won seven consecutive games. It’s their third straight win over the 4-7 Dolphins, who have lost 5 straight. It’s the Dolphin’s worst run since 2011.

Matt Moore completed 23 of 34 passes for 215 yards for Miami. He also scored a touchdown, but he was sacked seven times.

In spite of their poor form, Moore said that the Dolphins locker room is sticking together:

“The overall pulse is OK. I mean, the world’s not ending,” he said. “But it’s not what we want, for sure.”

Big Games

With the NFL season run-in on the horizon, Tom Brady made clear that he and his New England Teammates will have to keep up their good form:

“The expectations are really high because of what teams in the past have done. Winning seasons are great. Obviously, we’re trying to win every game we play. We started 2-2 and to be 9-2 with seven straight wins is pretty good, but we know our biggest games are ahead of us.

“All the good teams are gonna start playing really well. We’ve gotta be one of those teams.”
