Patriots Heavily Favored To Crush Cowboys In Week 5

The Dallas Cowboys were widely considered to be one of the best teams in the NFC heading into the 2015 NFL season. Tony Romo and company were sporting one of the best offenses in the NFL and were hungry to prove it after coming one play short of the NFC Championship Game last season following a controversial play that didn’t go their way against the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, this season has become almost a lost cause for the Cowboys. Injuries have plagued this team every week of the season thus far. Dallas has lost Dez Bryant (foot), Tony Romo (collarbone) and running back Lance Dunbar (knee) to injuries which will greatly impact the team’s chances of competing for a playoff spot let alone a shot to reach Super Bowl 50. Bryant and Romo will return, but Dunbar is done for the year.

As if these injuries weren’t costly enough, the Cowboys will go up against arguably the best team in the NFL in Week 5 with a severely depleted roster. The Patriots have fired on all cylinders from the word go this season with Tom Brady seemingly defying Father Time for yet another incredible year.

According to Sportsbook.ag, New England is heavily favored to record the team’s fourth straight win of the season. The Patriots are currently sporting a -9.5 point spread in their favor despite playing on the road in Dallas this week.

With so many injuries ripping apart this Cowboys roster, Dallas being heavy underdogs, even at home, isn’t all that surprising. New England will be fresh off their bye week and ready to get back to work. Bill Belichick’s squad has absolutely crushed the competition in the team’s first three games scoring 28 or more points every single week.

Only the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season opener threatened to hand the Patriots a loss thus far. Following an impressive win over Pittsburgh in Week 1, New England put up 40 points on the stout Buffalo Bills defense in Week 2 and followed that performance up with a 51-point showing against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Cowboys will have the advantage of playing on their home field in Week 5, but it will make little difference against a Patriots team that seems unbeatable at this point in time.
