Super Bowl LI Rematch Highlights Week 7 NFL Schedule

A rematch of Super Bowl LI concludes Sunday’s NFL Week 7 schedule when the Atlanta Falcons visit the New England Patriots. The current line has New England favored by 3 points with the over/under point total on 56.5.

Entering this game, Atlanta on the season is 3-2 straight up and 2-3 against the spread. On the road, the Falcons are 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS. New England on the season is 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS. At home, the Patriots are 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS.

This is not just another game during the regular season, this will be a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl in which the Falcon’s blew a 25-point lead and lost to the Patriots.

Atlanta has lost two straight entering this game, including a lead of 17 points last week to Miami and lost 20-17. The Falcons hope not to have the same sort of advantage against New England and blow it again.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was MVP of the NFL last season after he threw for a career high in passing yards with 4,944. However, this season he has just six touchdown passes and as many interceptions, when last season he threw 38 passes for touchdowns and just seven interceptions for the entire season.

The Falcons will focus on shredding a weak Patriots secondary with wide receiver Julio Jones. Atlanta will also use its dual running attack of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. The two have combined to rush for 566 yards.

New England star quarterback Tom Brady passed for 466 yards in last season’s comeback Super Bowl win over Atlanta. This season he leads the NFL in passing with 1,959 yards. He has thrown 13 touchdown passes and just 2 interceptions.

However, Brady may have to lead New England to a score in nearly every possession since the Patriots defense is last in the league allowing 440.7 yards per game.

But, over the last two games, the Patriots defense has allowed only a combined 31 points.

Brady has averaged over 331.7 yards per game while throwing 11 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions in his five games against the Falcons.

Ryan has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 24 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Atlanta is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games on the road.

New England is 18-7 ATS in its past 25 games played.

Prediction: Atlanta will cover. No more no less.
