Winless Giants Visit Broncos for Sunday Night Football

NFL Sunday Night Football features an inter-conference clash between the New York Giants and the host Denver Broncos. The current line has Denver favored by 11.5 points with the over/under point total on 39.5.

Entering the game, New York has an overall record of 0-5 straight up and 2-3 against the spread. On the road, the Giants are 0-3 SU and 2-1 ATS. Denver on the season is 3-1 SU and 2-1- ATS. At home, the Broncos are 3-0 SU and 2-0-1 ATS.

This season is for all intends and purposes over for the Giants after starting 0-5, with their playoff chances all but gone and injuries continuing to take their best skills position players off the field. Things do not get any easier playing at night in Denver in one of the league’s toughest venues.

The Giants lost their past three games by just a combined 10 points, but the most damaging of all was last week’s 22-17 defeat to the Chargers. Both starting wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Odell Beckham Jr. were lost for the season with ankle injuries.

Denver is rested following its bye but must fight against any letdown in its attempt to keep pace with AFC West rival Kansas City the league’s only undefeated team at 5-0.

Denver lost to Buffalo and needed an interception late in the game to hold off Oakland before its bye week. However, the Broncos routed Dallas 42-17 in Week 2.

The defense for Denver leads the NFL in yards allowed per game at 261 and against the run allowing only 51 yards per game.

On offense, wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders give quarterback Trevor Siemian strong downfield options.

Giants’ veteran quarterback Eli Manning has watched three wide receivers lost to season ending injuries, while a fourth Sterling Shepard did not practice this week.

Starting running back Paul Perkins is slowed by an injury which means the running game will feature Wayne Gallman and Orleans Darkwa.

Denver linebacker Von Miller recorded four quarterback sacks in his past three games.

Manning in his past six games versus opponents from the AFC has 1,595 yards passing, 17 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions.

New York is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games after a loss ATS.

Denver is 3-1-1 ATS in its last 5 game played.

Prediction: The Giants are in a free fall downward and the Broncos at home are tough to beat. Lean here toward the Broncos less the points.
