Thunder Face Biggest Challenge Yet In Warriors

Tonight, the best team in the NBA will take on the hottest team in the NBA.

The Golden State Warriors may have the best record in the NBA at 20-6, however they are not the hottest team in the league. That title goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder who have won seven straight games.

The books have the Warriors listed as 3-point favorites against the Thunder. A total has not been posted as of this writing.

The Warriors are coming off a streak of their own that they had snapped by the Memphis Grizzlies this past Tuesday. To make things worse for those who bet on GSW, they failed to cover the spread in this game. The total came in on the UNDER.

The Warriors won their first encounter with the Thunder back on Nov. 23. OKC were without Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in that game. Getting back into the swing of winning will not be easy, though, with Durant and Westbrook on the court.

Westbrook is averaging 27.8 points a game and is shooting over 50 percent from the field. Meanwhile, Durant is averaging 21.5 points a game and has the potential to be much more explosive. Defensively, the Thunder have been limiting opponents to about 93 points a game and holding them to 40 percent on shooting.

In their last game, the Thunder beat the Sacramento Kings, 104-92, easily covering an 8-point spread as favorites. The total came in on the under.

Both teams have been covering the spread well this season with the Thunder going 14-10-1 and the Warriors being the more consistent horse to bet on with 16-8 against the spread.

Both teams favor the UNDER.Oklahoma City has gone UNDER in six of its last seven, while the Warriors have gone UNDER in four of its last five game.

A win here for the Thunder will also go a long way in their decent up the NBA Championship future odds.

On a side note, Durant recently become the second-youngest player to pass the 15,000 point mark.
