Denver Broncos potentially making a change at QB

Trevor Siemian, Broncos

The 2017 NFL season has not gone as planned for the Denver Broncos. The storied franchise led by a lockdown defense has struggled this year with a shaky situation at the quarterback position.

After beating out Paxton Lynch in training camp, Trevor Siemian was given the distinction as starting quarterback. Outside of some good performances early on, Siemian has been a disappointment, and head coach Vance Joseph finally admitted it might be time for a chance, via ESPN’s Jeff Legwold.

“When you lose three in a row and how we’ve lost the football games, again [Monday] on offense with four turnovers, I think everything is for discussion,” Joseph said. “It’s fair to say, right now, everything is being discussed. … It’s unfair to your team if you’re not discussing that position.”

The Broncos are coming off their third consecutive loss in which they fell to the division rival Kansas City Chiefs. Siemian couldn’t get anything going offensively against the Chiefs, and now he’s on the hot seat as his time as a starter in Denver may quickly be coming to an end.

Ironically enough, it seems as though Brock Osweiler may have another chance to be the starter for the Broncos. Joseph has ruled out Paxton Lynch as an option for Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles and may turn to Osweiler to help right the ship under center.

After being traded by the Houston Texans and cut by the Cleveland Browns, Osweiler finds himself back where he started and now may have an opportunity to start fresh. The well-traveled Osweiler will have his work cut out for him if he indeed gets the nod with the Eagles being arguably the best team in the NFL right now at 7-1.
